Coincidentally, after reading an entry about a fire-hydrant-themed photo contest, I found one interesting fire hydrant in KL. This afternoon (January 10, around 3:00PM), I had to go out and pick up my mom's baju kurung from her tailor Lautner in Medan MARA. Since parking is a little bit of a challenge there, I went with my sister. I just dropped her off at a zebra crossing in front of the building and waited for her in the car across the street.
From Jalan Raja Laut, I took left into Jalan Merpati just before the Quality Hotel. I made a U-turn and parked on the left side of the road. Just right after I pulled the hand brake, on my left, I noticed a unique fire hydrant surrounded by a 'mini jungle'. To be honest, I think this kind of fire hydrant is very rare. The usual ones are the 'T-shaped' fire hydrants. But this one is a little round-ish and, for the lack of a better word, 'chubby'.

In a glance, anybody could overlook this fire hydrant - it is short but I guess that's the standard size, no designated signboard to point out the location, and the faded yellow color kinda blends in with it's surroundings. Maybe that's why some fire hydrants are red in color. *wonders*

However, if anything happens, I'm pretty sure the fire fighter will take some time to find this hydrant and it will take some more time to work around all those trees. I can't help but wonder whether the hydrant or the trees were planted there first.

In my humble opinion, we should've made a little space for the hydrant. Not that the hydrant needs to breathe or anything, but just look at it. Maybe I just think that a fire hydrant should have it's own space so that fire fighters can work around it easily which will make rescue processes run smoothly (without 'hurting' the trees).
